Iranian doc takes home Egyptian festival’s best film award

TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) -- The Iranian documentary “One Day after the Tenth Day” directed by Narges Abyar won the Best Film Prize of the Ismailia International Film Festival.

The Ismailia International Film Festival for documentary and short films was held from October 15 to 22 in Ismailia city, Egypt.

 

The film is about an old man who fills his solitary life with the company of a camel and a little girl.

 

 

IRIB to hold Eternal Figures Gathering in November

 

TEHRAN -- The 7th edition of Eternal Figures Gathering will be held on November 9 at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) International Conference Hall.

 

Iranian luminaries from various scientific, cultural, and artistic fields will be honored during the gathering.

 

 

World students to compete in Tehran Quran competition

 

TEHRAN -- The second edition of the Students International Quran Competition will be held from November 10 to 14 at Tehran’s Milad Tower.

 

Some 62 students from 38 countries including India, Denmark, Britain, German, Pakistan and Malaysia will compete in recitation and memorization section of the gala.

 

 

“Buddha” wins three awards at Kyiv’s Molodist festival

 

TEHRAN -- Hana Makhmalbaf’s “Buddha Collapsed out of Shame” won three awards at the Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist.

 

It shared the Grand prix of the festival, a Scythian Deer statuette, with “Shultes” by Bakur Bakuradze from Russia.

It also won the FICC Jury Award and the Ecumenical jury presented the diploma to "Buddha collapsed out of shame".

 

The 38th edition of the festival was held from October 18 to 26.
